- JJ Peters conference 'River Morphology and Fluvial Hydraulics' and case studies

Files 1 and 2 are the lecture notes respectively on geomorphology of rivers (#1) and on hydraulics and sediment transport (#2). Files 3 to 7 are case studies on the Pirai River in Bolivia (#3), Grijalva River in Mexico (#4), Scheldt River Estuary in Belgium and The Netherlands (#6), Ichilo River in Bolivia (#5) and Var River in France (#7). The Var River Case is presented as an introduction to the field visit.  The file "VAR _ Thesis Lauro Rossi.ppt" is the translation in English of the thesis presented in 2002 by Lauro Rossi at the University of Genova (Italy). The BBC-HORIZON video "After the Flood" aims at explaining the 1993 flood in the Mississippi and the challenges ahead posed by the flood control in Bangladesh. The file on sediment transport measurements (#8) corresponds to an optional presentation that can be made at the request of students (originally not foreseen in the programme).
